වසර 07ක් සපිරෙන මාරක බස් අනතුර

ශ්‍රී ලංගම උඩුගම ඩිපෝවට අයත්ව තිබූ NA3309 අංක දරන  ටාටා බස් රිය යක්කලමුලේ සිට කොළඹ බලා ධාවනය වූයේ වෙනදා මෙන්ම  කිසිඳු අමුත්තක් නොමැතිවය. මගීන් ‍රැසක් සමඟින් ධාවනය වූ බස් රථය වෙත මරුවා කඩා පැන්නේ ගාල්ල කොළඹ ප්‍රධාන මාර්ගයේ කොස්ගොඩ ඉඳුරුව ප්‍රදේශ්යේදීය.


2007 අප්‍රේල් 10 වැනිදා හිමිදිරියේ මෙම මාරක අනතුර සිදුවිණි.
ශ්‍රී ලංගම බස් රථය සමඟ ගැටී තිබුනේ  කොළඹ සිට ගාල්ල දක්වා බියර් බෝතල් ප්‍රවාහනය කරමින් තිබූ කන්ටේනර් රථයකි.

හිමිදිරි පාන්දර කන්ටේනර් රියකට කිසිසේත්ම නොගැලපෙන අධික වේගයකින් ධාවනය වූ කන්ටේනර් රථයේ රියදුරාට රථය පාලනය කරගැනීමට නොහැකිවීම නිසා බස් රථය සමඟ ගැටී මෙම මාරක රිය අනතුර සිදුව තිබුණි.

අනතුරත් සමග වාහන දෙකම ගිනිගෙන දැවෙන්නට විය. බස් රියේ සිටි මගීන් බොහොමයක් මරණයට පත්වූයේ  ගින්නට හසුවීමෙනි.
මෙම අනතුරෙන්  බස් රියේ සහ කන්ටේනර් රියේ රියදුරන් දෙදෙනා ඇතුළුව මගීන් 23 දෙනෙකු ජීවිතක්ෂයට පත්විය. තවත් 70 ආසන්න පිරිසක් රෝහල් ගත් කෙරුණි.[කෙසේ නමුත් මෙම මරණ සංඛ්‍යාව වෙනස් වාර්ථාවල එකෙනෙකට වෙනස් ලෙස වාර්ථා වීම ගැටළු සහගත තතත්වයකි.]

Perera - Reporting from ColomboColombo, 12 April, (Asiantribune.com): Southern Police Chief Jayantha Gamage says preliminary investigations into the deadly bus-truck accident in Kosgoda, Induruwa yesterday has been completed.Reports of the government analyst have confirmed that there was no involvement of any type of explosives in the accident. A fire had taken place due to explosion of diesel tanks of the two vehicles.Director of the Karapitiya Hospital in Galle said Dr. P.K. Wijewickrema said six of the dead have been identified and their bodies handed over to the relatives. The remaining 19 bodies which could not be identified are to be buried in a mass grave. However,DNA experiments will be conducted on the unidentified bodies and details will be computerized.Minister Doulas Alahapperuma said it is possible to provide full compensation to the families of the victims as the ill-fated CTB bus was completely insured.The company which owns the container truck involved in the accident has agreed to provide a compensation of 125 thousand rupees on behalf of each of the dead. Asum of 25 thousand rupees will be provided for each of the injured. The Chief Minister of the Southern Province says the southern provincial council will provide 25 thousand rupees as funeral expenses on each of the victims.Asian Tribune -
